UPDATE 17/10/2017: A Perfect Circle have released a new single titled ‘The Doomed’ from their forthcoming untitled album.
ORIGINAL STORY: A Perfect Circle have just melted fans brains with a simple teaser for their next musical release.
The short, soundless clip spruiks the imminent arrival of something called ‘The Doomed’, which many fans are taking to be the name of the imminent follow-up to their 2004 Emotive LP, after frontman Maynard James Keenan recently hinted that a new APC album was on the way.
Naturally, confirmation of the initial release from their first album in 14 years dropping soon has fans flipping-the-fark-out, with plenty making the obvious comparisons to Keenan’s other band Tool, who’s long-promised album has still yet to materialise after an 11-year wait:
It comes after Keenan tweeted promisingly, suggesting that “new tracks” will be performed on A Perfect Circle’s upcoming tour before concluding the message with the hashtag #apc2018.
As for Tool, bass player Justin Chancellor revealed in June that their new album was 90% completed, but as we know when it comes to Maynard, that could mean just about anything.
