Another day, another bit of goss on that new Daft Punk album, and this time it’s an entry into the speculated contributors rumour mill with one of hip hop’s coolest kids Pharrell Williams being thrown into the mix.
IAmMusic.TV is reporting Williams hooked up with the French robot dance kings and their collaborator, Nile Rodgers, to lay down vocals on three tracks on the album.
On top of this, Rogers went ahead and tweeted a link to the story via his account overnight. Looks like a confirm to us.
If so, it wouldn’t be the first time that Williams has collaborated with Daft Punk. Williams and his band N*E*R*D released a track in 2010 called Hypnotize U – which was produced by the French robot duo and The Neptunes.
Consequence Of Sound has been keeping tabs on those who are said to be involved in the record – their list includes Paul Williams, Panda Bear from Animal Collective, Feist collaborator Chilly Gonzales and famed Italian producer Giorgio Moroder.
As reported a few days ago, Daft Punk officially revealed their new album Random Access Memories via a pre-order link on iTunes and another teaser ad on Saturday Night Live in the States.
Random Access Memories is set for release locally on 17th May.
