It’s been a huge week for A Tribe Called Quest following the release of their final album as a group We Got It From Here, Thank You For Your Service.
Now there’s some more awesome news for Tribe fans, with the late Phife Dawg‘s widow revealing that Phife’s final solo album will be hitting shelves (so to speak) in early 2017.
Okayplayer reports that Phife Dawg’s wife Desha Head Talor spoke during a press conference whilst attending a ceremony to name a block in Queens, New York after Phife – revealing that her late husband completed a solo album before he died.
“His solo album will be out probably sometime during the first quarter of 2017. We’re working on it now,” she said. “He completed his entire solo album before he transitioned, so we’re excited about releasing that.”
We were treated to one track off the record called Nutshell shortly after Phife passed away, and so now it looks like his second ever solo record will also be release posthumously early next year.
