Phoebe Bridgers Shares New Single ‘I See You’, Announces Virtual “World Tour” From Home

Phoebe Bridgers has shared another taste of forthcoming album Punisher, releasing ‘I See You’ today. It’s the third single we’ve heard from the album thus far, after Bridgers previously shared ‘Kyoto’ and ‘Garden Song’.

According to Bridgers, the track is about drummer and former partner Marshall Vore, who plays on the track in addition to co-writing it.

“It’s about my breakup with my drummer,” she commented. “We dated for a few years, made music every day, and were extremely co-dependent. We became like family to each other, so our breakup was extremely tough. But if this tells you anything about our relationship, we wrote this song together, just like everything else.”

To coincide with the single, Bridgers has announced a “virtual world tour” that will see her livestream performances from different rooms of her house. The “tour” kicks off with a performance from her kitchen on the morning of Wednesday, 27th May at 10am AEST.

Bridgers was scheduled to visit Australia back in March as main support for The National‘s tour dates here. Those dates – with Bridgers included – have been rescheduled for December due to the coronavirus pandemic.
