It’s hard to believe that it’s been 19 years to the day since Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain tragically cut his own life short in his Seattle, Washington home. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer is marking the occasion by releasing previously unpublished photos of the scene of his death.
The collection of pictures, most of which have been sitting in their negative sleeves since 1994, include shots from the front and back of the Lake Washington Boulevard East home that 27-year-old Cobain shared with his wife, Courtney Love, and some disturbing pictures of Cobain’s body being removed from the property, as well as shots of distraught fans rushing to the scene.

An upcoming biopic of Cobain by director Brett Morgen is scheduled for release in 2014. Courtney Love will not have any involvement in the project.
