Brissy-based Electro-poppers Pigeon today continue their escapades unheeded with the release of the brand-new single Curtain Call. The dancefloor killer comes with a Spring Breakers themed clip, and a whole lotta tour dates for August and September set to bring the party directly to you.
Fans of Miike Snow, or maybe Röyksopp will take to the track like a house on fire. Curtain Call sustains a melodic, atmospheric feel until, out of nowhere…it drops. The well-crafted electronic beat is coated in a subtle narrative, which the band have described as “reminiscent of some kind of traditional tale involving a castle and a princess but set in space.” The contrasting vibes pit perfectly with the visuals attributed to the track, which follow three young women on an midnight urban adventure.
Pigeon have so far had a nod of approval from NME, international airplay and a big thumbs up from the 2012 Electronic/Dance QLD Music Award all in the space of 2 EPs time. The most recent release, Fortunes, had similar crews looking over their shoulder as Pigeon demonstrated a growing hunger. Now, the band will be heading out on a solid live stint, brining their award nominated, radio loved-up swag of jams with them, and the possibility of hearing something new is at an all time high.
