Portishead Working On Fourth Album Now

Portishead will ‘definitely’ be starting on the follow-up to their 2009 album Third soon, according to founder and producer Geoff Barrow.

Speaking to Rolling Stone last year, he said: “I’m going to start in January, I don’t know when Beth (Gibbons) is gonna start or when Adrian (Utley) is gonna start, but I’m gonna get my head together for January, basically to start writing. Historically, that could mean fucking 10 years. We’re only ever going to release something that we feel comfortable with or else it’s not worth releasing basically.”

Now talking to Quietus the trio said that they have been meeting up regularly, and that “we’re just going to get on it as soon as my studio gets working.”

The Harvest Festival headliners released Third 11 years after 1997’s self-titled album.
