Native trio Broadway Sounds have tapped into the iconic imagery of a dog grooming show to aid the visuals for their brand new track/ anthem-to-be Ah Ring A Ting Ting.
A hefty serving of psychedelic afro-funk, Ah Ring A Ting Ting is a wholesome dish of summer goodness. Void of any logic or straight lines, the track is all sorts of soft wavy fun enhanced by their liberal use of intergalactic Nintendo beeps and bops. No fun was sacrificed for the visual stimulant either, the VHS-captured clip featuring plenty of various angles of primping – be it for humans or canines, it’s pretty much the cutest video we’ve seen all year. It was helmed by Tobias Willis.
“I always wanted to make a video clip based around dogs and dog shows,” explains Broadway Sounds founding member Andrew Diamond Phillips. “The participants, the preparation, the magic, the contest, the build up, the tension, the emotion, the agony, the ecstasy and the graciousness… All contribute to what makes them so alluring… Pretty much like the creative process of making music or a video clip… Plus, I love dogs.”
Broadway Sounds have done an impressive job turning the heads of tastemakers and fans. Their previous releases The Last Detail and Wildflowers stole hearts and minds the world over. This was backed up with some highly praised live performances at Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party and Womad UK.
