Byron Bay-based surf punk twosome, Bleach Girls pricked up a lot of ears the world over with the release of their slacker-rock jam Like You, now the pair are opening eyes with the release of the official music video.
The band kept things simple and very much DIY for the video offering. Hell, it doesn’t even look like they ventured much further than the local Foodworks for the props BUT what more did they need, really? The performance-based clip is dripping with Byron Bay-vibes as the members thrash their way around a backyard.
The finale is a cute picnic sitch which ends in a food fight from which there are no victors.
Upon its release, Like You was met with overwhelming approval the world over. Tastemakers and others who concern themselves with such things were quick to jump on.
Like You is the first single to be launched from Bleach Girls’ upcoming EP Hi, which arrives just in time to soundtrack our summer vibes.
Their unique take on the surf-punk game will be on display before you, with a run of shows locked in on either side of NYE, including a spot at the upcoming Ozfest on the Goldie.
