Melbourne future-soul masterminds Hiatus Kaiyote released their new EP By Fire last month, marking their first new music since 2013 album Tawk Tomahawk. As the group continue to take the EP around the country as part of the Sonic Architects National Conference, they’re premiering a live-shot video for EP cut Molasses right here on Music Feeds.
Filmed in Paris in July by French TV production company Oleo, the video captures the electric atmosphere of the group’s live show. The pro-shot footage sees the band performing on a dimly-lit stage, and delicately embellishing the supremely soulful track with infectious rhythms and complex melodies.
The three new tracks on By Fire offer a taste of the direction the band will take on their highly anticipated sophomore album, Choose Your Weapon, which is due for release in March 2015.
The final leg of the Sonic Architects National Conference takes place this weekend, with a show in Hobart on Saturday, 13th December and at Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Sunday, 14th December.
