Preview New The Dead Weather, The White Stripes Releases

American rock supergroup The Dead WeatherJack White, Alison Mosshart, Dean Fertita and Jack Lawrence – have given fans another taste of their forthcoming third studio album, which is due out some time next year. In other Jack White goodness, his old band The White Stripes have also announced plans for a double live album.

In the lead-up to The Dead Weather’s next full-length release, which will follow 2010’s Sea of Cowards, White and his record label Third Man Records are dropping a series of two-song singles. The first installment dropped in January with songs Open Up (That’s Enough) and Rough Detective.

Now, White has announced the next release, featuring Buzzkill(er) (stream a preview, below) and It’s Just Too Bad. The songs will be available first as part of the forthcoming 21st installment of Third Man’s ‘Vault’ subscription series, and will be released digitally at a later date.

The next ‘Vault’ package will also include a new vinyl live album featuring recordings of The White Stripes’ maiden voyage to Japan in October 2000, and will feature 31 songs from two concerts. The album will be named Live Under The Lights of The Rising Sun. A preview of Hello Operator, taken from the LP, is available to stream below.

The subscription deadline for Vault #21 is 31st July. Visit Third Man Records for more information.
