Primus Drummer Tim Alexander Is Recovering From A Second Heart Attack

Tim Alexander, the drummer of US rock band Primus is recovering after he suffered a second heart attack.

Alexander suffered his first heart attack in 2014 and underwent triple bypass surgery to rectify the problem but less two years later he’s had another one.

The drummer took to Instagram to tell followers that he was “doing well” after the attack despite being “overwhelmed with sadness”.

“I was overwhelmed with sadness, not because of the fact that I could die but that I would have to say goodbye to my family,” he wrote.

“It can happen at any moment, and remember IT WILL HAPPEN ONE DAY so tell the people in your life you love them. Enjoy the days you have with them, they are limited. We are all here for a short time.”

Primus aren’t touring at the moment but they do have a select few festivals booked for later in the year. Last time Alexander suffered a heart attack he was replaced temporarily by Tool’s Dan Carey.

The band’s last album was 2014’s Primus & the Chocolate Factory with the Fungi Ensemble. It’s unknown whether or not they are working on a follow-up but frontman Les Claypool just released a record with Sean Lennon as Claypool Lennon Delirium.
