It was bound to happen, and now it has — all eight shows of Prince‘s Australian Piano & A Microphone tour have sold out, and have done so super-dooper-quickly.
Prince’s Australian tour promoter Kerry O’Brien has confirmed to Music Feeds that no further Aussie shows are to be announced, while Prince has set some ground rules for his latest trip down under in some now-deleted tweets:

Announced late last week, Prince’s newest Aussie dates went on sale yesterday, and saw punters slam ticket-sellers after they missed out on tickets due to the crazy demand to see The Purple One in person.
Ticketek Australia Managing Director Cameron Hoy told Music Feeds yesterday that the company was allocated on 1,500 tickets for Prince’s two upcoming Sydney Opera House shows, which sold out in a matter of minutes.
“We have a system that can handle over 20,000 concurrent transactions and we only had 1,500 tickets allocated to us. So if there’s over 200,000 people trying to get in to buy 1,500 tickets, inevitably there are people who are going to miss out,” he said.
Ticketmaster, which sold tickets to all of Prince’s other Aussie shows, is yet to comment on how quickly its tickets sold out.
Prince fans who were lucky enough to have scored themselves tickets are expected to witness the muso perform special versions of his hits alongside rarely performed B-sides and even some never-before-heard material at his Piano & A Microphone shows. Catch all of his upcoming Aussie dates, below.

SPECIAL TICKETING ARRANGEMENTS:
Ticket purchases for the show will be limited to two (2) tickets per person via the venues and ticketing companies noted above. No tickets will be distributed. At the time of purchase, the purchaser’s name will be recorded and a corresponding receipt issued. Physical tickets will only be available for collection from noon on the night of the concert. Photo ID will be required to match the name previously advised and individuals will be wrist-banded before entering the auditorium.
