Melbourne punks Private Function have announced a Christmas-themed extravaganza dubbed Miracle on 69th Street for later this year, a “post-lockdown purge” that will take place at The Forum on Saturday, 18th December.
The band will be joined on the evening by a truly stacked lineup that will also include Press Club and Blonde Revolver along with DJ sets by Camp Cope‘s Georgia Maq and Cable Ties. The night will also see the Forum floor transformed into a wrestling ring with bouts courtesy of Pro Wrestling Australia in between sets. Tickets are on sale this Friday, 24th September from 10am via Ticketmaster.
Though this December’s iteration looks set to be their biggest and most chaotic yet, Private Function are no strangers to getting festive. They capped off 2020 with a holiday livestream, Private Function Saves Christmas, filmed at Melbourne’s Last Chance Rock & Roll Bar.
Last year also saw Private Function release their latest album Whose Line Is It Anyway?, following on from 2019’s St. Anger. Since then, they’ve managed to fit in a slew of live shows despite ongoing restrictions, including appearances at festivals like Yours & Owls and Meadow Music Festival, a headline tour and a massive headline show at Melbourne’s iconic Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
