Full Program Revealed For NSW’s Great Southern Nights 2022

The likes of Courtney Barnett, Daryl Braithwaite, James Reyne, Julia Stone, The Veronicas and The Whitlams have been added to the Great Southern Nights 2022 program.

They join previously announced acts Amy Shark, Baker Boy, Jessica Mauboy, Jimmy Barnes, Missy Higgins and Peking Duk in taking part in the revived NSW Government events series, which takes place from Friday, 18th March to Sunday, 10th April 2022.

Great Southern Nights was designed to celebrate “the very essence of live music in Australia,” said NSW Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney, Stuart Ayres. Great Southern Nights will feature more than 500 COVID-safe gigs in 350 venues. Almost half of the events are happening in regional NSW areas.

“[It] will be a huge boost for those regional economies and the fans to see their favourite artists perform live,” said Ayres.

Program highlights include Alex Lahey (at Newcastle’s Cambridge Hotel, Wed, 30th March); Kasey Chambers (at Lizotte’s, Lambton, Wed, 30th March); Violent Soho (at UNSW Roundhouse, Thu, 31st March); Middle Kids (at Beach Hotel, Byron Bay, Fri, 25th March); DZ Deathrays (at Drifter’s Wharf, Gosford, Thu, 31st March); and Archie Roach (at Civic Theatre, Wagga Wagga, Sun, 10th April).
