Puddle Of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin has had an onstage meltdown at a US show, after reportedly of lip syncing for most of the gig. Scantlin threw a microphone into the crowd, reportedly injuring a fan, flipped off the audience and swore at them before storming off stage.
In the footage below, Scantlin can been seen ranting at the crowd during Puddle Of Mudd’s set at Trees in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday, 16th April. He can also be seen slamming his mic stand into the ground and throwing bottles of water at the crowd.
Scantlin can be heard making remarks like, “Since we suck so bad everyone get ready to put your hands in the fucking air”, and “Puddle Of Mudd suck”.
According to TMZ, paramedics were called to help one injured member of the crowd. What caused the injury wasn’t clear, but various members of the crowd reportedly pointed towards Scantlin’s microphone toss as the reason for the injury.
Show-goers have also noted that Scantlin lip-synced all but one of the songs in his band’s. Already Gone was reportedly sung and not lip-synced.
Scantlin even threw his shirt into the pit towards the end of Already Gone, before yelling, “It ain’t my fault that I’m the hottest motherfucker in the god damn building.” He can then be seen throwing his mic stand down and storming offstage.
Scantlin has a long history of erratic behaviour, being arrested for possession of a controlled substance in January 2012. He was also involved in a drunken altercation with a flight attendant in September 2012, arrested for allegedly attacking his ex-wife in 2013, and missed a court date in December last year leading to yet another arrest warrant.
Puddle Of Mudd’s latest album is 2009’s Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love & Hate.
