Pulp reform

It seems that despite Jarvis Cocker‘s many denials about the potential for a reunion that Pulp are getting back together for a run of festival shows next year. Cocker will be joined by his Different Class cohorts Nick Banks, Candida Doyle, Steve Mackey, Russell Senior and Mark Webber to headline next year’s Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona and London’s Wireless Festival.

The announcement comes as somewhat of a shock considering Cocker’s frequent dismissals of the possibility of a reunion. As recently as last year Cocker, when speaking to Q, said “we live in an age where repetition and nostalgia are lifestyle choices. I’m prone to it too, I go on YouTube and find things I haven’t seen since I was a kid. But I’m a contrary sod, so if someone wants me to reform a band, I tend not to.”

Here’s hoping they make it out here at some point next year, maybe for Splendour.
