President Trump, notably stubborn and consistent pain in the arse, is putting up a hell of a fight with Queen, who have consistently asked #45 to stop playing their music on social media.
The latest episode of Queen vs. Dickhead comes as the latter used the former’s hit ‘We Will Rock You’ on a video on social media platform, Triller (sort of like TikTok except Trump isn’t trying to ban it).
Speaking to BBC, a spokesperson for the band said that “repeatedly taken issue with the Trump campaign,” and that “the band itself has been quite outspoken on the subject.”
This debacle follows Trump being forced to remove a video from Twitter last year after Queen filed a copyright infringement notice for using ‘We Will Rock You’ without their permission.
Furthermore, prior to Trump’s election in 2016 (remember those days?), he famously walked onto the stage at the Republican National Convention to ‘We Are The Champions’, which the band disapproved of then as well.
“I can confirm that permission to use the track was neither sought nor given,” Brian May wrote on his website at the time.
“We are taking advice on what steps we can take to ensure this use does not continue. Regardless of our views on Mr. Trump’s platform, it has always been against our policy to allow QUEEN music to be used as a political campaigning tool.”
Just over two months til the election, everyone.
