Radiohead Announce World Tour Dates, Suggesting A New Album Is On The Way

Radiohead have sent fans into a flutter today, posting a link to Twitter announcing a run of tour dates around the world (minus our part). As well as the tour dates, the band also posted some artwork that looks like it could be an album cover, leading many to think an album is imminent.

Rumours of new work from Radiohead first started to look credible at the end of last year when the band set up a company called Dawn Chorus LLP. Mirroring the release strategy of their previous albums The King Of Limbs and In Rainbows, both releases handled by separate companies set up previously in the months before, it seemed to fans the band’s 9th album was imminent.

Now with what looks like artwork and a world tour announced, the prophets of the internet seem to be proven right. Or at least we here at Music Feeds HQ hope so.

In regards to the tour, the band start in May playing their first shows since they wrapped touring in support for The King of Limbs in 2012. While no visit to Australia is listed, the dates are all over the place with enough room still there for them to make it out for Splendour In The Grass later this year.

With a series of globetrotting headline arena shows as well as festivals everywhere from Primavera Sound in Spain to Summersonic festival in Japan already announced though, we might have to wait a little longer still to see them live. Let’s just hope the album rumours are true and we have LP9 in our hands by May.
