Randy Blythe’s Czech Manslaughter Trial Set For February 4

Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe has received a date for his manslaughter trial in the Czech Republic.

The Redneck singer will face the music on February 4 for his alleged role in the death of a fan at a Lamb of God concert in Prague in 2010.

Following the fan’s death from head injuries supposedly sustained at the concert, Blythe was famously arrested on accusations of manslaughter prior to the band playing a show there earlier this year. He remained in a Czech prison for over a month before being released on bail.

Loudwire reports that a spokesperson for the Prague 8 District Court said that the trial could last for up to four days.

“We have issued Randy Blythe with a court summons, and he is obliged to attend the hearing in person,” court spokeswoman Martina Lhotáková said.

“The trial will determine the culpability of Blythe and his potential punishment.”

Blythe has repeatedly stated his intent to stand trial in Czech Republic and clear his name, instead of hiding out in America.

“I want my name cleared,” Blythe stated in a recent interview on US TV. “I have to go around the world and tour, you know? That’s what I do. I’m not going to hide here. I’m an innocent man. I’m going to go to court and see what happens.”
