Chicago alternative rockers Veruca Salt surprised fans last year when they announced that they were reuniting the band’s original lineup, and now as a part of their first tour dates since 1998 Nina Gordon, Louise Post, Jim Shapiro and Steve Lack are set to return for Australian shows this September.
The band broke the reunion news early last year, telling Facebook fans in no uncertain terms: “hatchets buried, axes exhumed”. The tour promises to revisit their massive sugar grunge hits like Seether and Volcano Girl alongside fan favourites and, if you’re lucky, some new material as well.
In celebration of Record Store Day this year, they revealed two new songs, The Museum of Broken Relationships and It’s Holy alongside their seminal track Seether on a 10-inch single.
The new tracks, which sound like they’ve stepped clean out of 1994, were produced by the band and Brad Wood, who also produced their debut album, American Thighs, and mark the band’s first new material in 14 years. The founding Veruca Salt members are currently working on a new full-length and preparing to hit the road.
Tickets for all dates go on sale 9am Wednesday, 7th May. Details below.
