Psychobilly icon The Reverend Horton Heat and his band found themselves feeling the heat last night, the group lucky to escape when their tour bus burst into flames on the highway in California.
Neither ‘The Reverend’ – aka Jim Heath – nor any of his touring party were hurt or injured. Not only that but all their instruments also escaped unscathed, being towed in a trailer behind the bus and not being harmed by the flames.
Posting to Facebook Heath told fans he and the band were ok.
“Heating up the highway. Our bus caught fire,” Heath wrote. “We are all ok.
He was also sure to thank the firefighters from the nearby Camp Pendleton Marin Corps base for putting out the fire.
“It was scary at first but the Camp Pendleton guys got their fire fighters over to us pretty quick. Thanks to them, not much of anything got ruined.
“The inside filled with smoke in less than a minute after I smelled something. That was scary. But we are all ok.”
