American rapper Rick Ross is being sued by Johnny’s Custom Jewelry in Texas after the 37-year-old forgot to pay the bill for 3 Rolex watches he ordered. The amount he casually neglected to pay? Oh, just some pocket change: $89,847.50 or so. No biggie.
According to TMZ, these weren’t ordinary Rolexes either: one was an 18K gold watch with 30CT of diamonds ($55,000), another an 18K gold watch with 7CT of diamonds ($14,000) and one two-tone watch with 5CT of diamonds ($14,000). Johnny’s says they delivered the watches to Ross last August but haven’t seen a dime, so they’re now suing the Hustlin performer and his record company, Maybach Music, for the amount owed plus interest.
Perhaps Ross is pinching pennies after being dropped by major sponsor Reebok earlier in the year. The shoe giant gave the rapper the axe after he caused outrage amongst women’s rights groups with his lyrics ‘Put molly all in her champagne, She ain’t even know it, I took her home and I enjoyed that, She ain’t even know it’ in his song O.U.E.N.O.
