Robert Pattinson Reportedly Tests Positive For COVID-19, Pausing ‘The Batman’ Production

Production of The Batman has come to a halt as star Robert Pattinson has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19. Both Vanity Fair and Hollywood Reporter shared news of production being paused, while Warner Bros. were not saying who specifically had tested positive.

Vanity Fair later reported that it was Robert Pattinson who came down with the virus, apparently just days after shooting the film had resumed.

In a statement, Warners Bros. said, “A member of The Batman production has tested positive for Covid-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols. Filming is temporarily paused.”

Vanity Fair say they, “confirmed through a highly placed source that Pattinson was the individual who became sick.”

Filming had only resumed three days ago in Leavesden, north of London. It was initially shut down back in mid-March, at the beginning of the pandemic.

The Robert Pattinson-led film was set for release mid-June next year, but was pushed back to October 2021.

We received a trailer for the film late last month.

Joining Robert Pattinson in the film is Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon.
