Robin Thicke‘s management team have shown an incredibly poor sense of timing after teaming up with VH1 for a Twitter Q&A session with the singer. Thicke, who is currently promoting his new album, Paula, was met with a barrage of tweets disapproving of the subject matter in his songs.
The singer’s public image is at something of an all-time low since his breakthrough single, Blurred Lines, became reviled for being what many perceived as an anthem celebrating rape, and he launched a public campaign to win back his estranged wife, after whom his new album is named.
The response by Twitter citizens to the Q&A recalls the similar response that R&B singer R Kelly received during his own Twitter Q&A in December of last year. Instead of querying the singer about his then-latest album, most questions were centred on the star’s infamous legal indiscretions.
