Tasmanian culture festival, MONA’s Dark Mofo will take place across Hobart venues from Friday, 10th June through to Tuesday, 21st June this year.
The musical aspect of the event features a host of names across a slew of venues throughout the city during the winter festival. British punk-rock band Savages return to Australia for the first time since their well-received 2014 Laneway touring shows, fitting in a gig at Hobart’s Odeon Theatre as part of their east-coast tour during June.
UK electro producer ZHU has been announced to play the huge opening party at Neon City, before the enigmatic producer makes his way up to Sydney to play Vivid Sydney’s Curve Ball. The Odeon Theatre will also feature a plethora of huge metal acts including Cult Of Fire, Tribulation, Dead Congregation and Inverloch.
American singer-songwriter Chelsea Wolf will play her own brand of folky-art-metal, supported by Jarboe. Australian-born experiential composer JG Thirwell will present a uniqute 50 minute electro-acoustic performance, and Denver’s Itchy-O will apparently make a number of surprise appearances at a variety of venues without warning.
Four of country music’s most acclaimed singers – Shellie Morris, Emma Donovan, Deline Briscoe and Ursula Yovich will join forces for an incredible show under the guise of The Black Arm Band.
