Yesterday, British producer SBTRKT dropped a new cut Good Morning featuring The-Dream and he’s wasted no time in dropping another one, today giving us I Feel Your Pain.
The track features hip-hop newcomer D.R.A.M. (whose track inspired Drake’s Hotline Bling) and Mabel, a British singer tipped by critics to make waves this year.
I Feel Your Pain was debuted on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show where SBTRKT spoke a little bit about the new music without explicitly revealing what exactly these songs will feature on.
“I write music all the time…For me, I’ve always wanted to share music more often,” he told Mac going on to say that he still likes the album format but wants to release more “micro-projects”.
As such, it sounds like these songs will be bundled in some sort of project that’s not exactly an album. He stressed though, it’s “just as important as a big record but it has a smaller thematic themes [sic] and it’s a smaller group of collaborators in a smaller thing.”
The project is also set to feature the same collaborators we’ve heard over the last two days, those being The-Dream, D.R.A.M. and Mabel.
Both tracks released over the past two days have featured a cover with the words “Save Yourself” on it so we can only guess that the new project will be titled that.
While he’s released bits and pieces on his Soundcloud since, his last full length was 2014’s Wonder Where We Land.
Off the back of that he played Falls Festival here in Australia and returned again to deliver a DJ set at Listen Out.
