New York glam-queens Scissor Sisters will return to Australia this September on the back of their new album Magic Hour. Last out here for Summadayze and Pyramid Rock at the end of last/beginning of this year, we’ll see them back again to play three shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
For their new album, the band have worked with a diverse list of new collaborators, such as Calvin Harris, Pharrell Williams, Diplo, Alex Rihda [BoysNoize] and Azealia Banks. The album was recorded over the past year in New York and London. Of Magic Hour, vocalist Jake Shears says “It’s a sweet joyful mélange of beat-driven future-pop. It style-hops all over the place unabashedly.”
Since their debut release in 2004 Scissor Sisters have sold over 4.5 million albums in the UK. The albums Scissor Sisters and Ta-Dah both hit #1 whilst 2010’s Night Work reached #2. Tickets go on sale 9am Wednesday 1st August 2012 so don’t miss out!
