Seth Sentry Is Channel [V]’s Oz Artist Of The Year

Seth Sentry has followed in the footsteps of fellow rapper 360 and taken out this year’s Channel [V] Oz Artist of the Year competition.

The Melbourne hip hop star beat out Ball Park Music, Delta Goodrem and Reece Mastin for the coveted award, which was held over eight weeks and attracted over 1.66 million votes.

Sentry has had a breakthrough year in 2012, with his debut album This Was Tomorrow debuting at No.6 on the ARIA Charts earlier this year. His singles My Scene and Float Away have received heavy exposure on TV and have built him up a massive fanbase – all of whom have voted in droves for him this year. Sentry will also be making the trek over to the US for SXSW in 2013.

“It is an honour just to be nominated or whatever. Oh wait… what? I won? Cheers! Lords, the lot of you! Thank you so much to the homies who voted their arses off! I love you guys! x,” Sentry said.

Channel [V] are marking his win by making Sentry the first artist to play their new [V] Island Parties concert series.

The concert will be staged on a floating island somewhere on Sydney Harbour on Monday, December 17. For your chance to win tickets to the show, head to the station’s website here.
