Brooklyn singer-songwriter Sharon Van Etten has announced she will play a series of Australian sideshows while in the country next year for the 2015 instalment of Golden Plains.
In addition to her festival appearance Van Etten will perform at the Factory Theatre in Sydney on March 1st, followed by a show at The Hi-Fi in Melbourne on March 3rd, and at Brisbane’s The Zoo on March 4th.
Van Etten last toured Australia in early 2013, delighting audiences with tracks from her 2012 break-through album Tramp. Her visit to the country saw her wow triple j listeners and a global audience alike with a spine-tingling cover of Nick Cave‘s People Ain’t No Good for Like A Version.
This time round Van Etten will be touring off the back of her fourth studio album Are We There. On this record the acclaimed singer also took the lead at the mixing desk, marking the next step in her creative progression, with a little assistance by veteran producer Stewart Lerman.
Van Etten will be supported in Sydney by both Jack Ladder and US musician Heather Woods Broderick, while Broderick and New Zealand’s Tiny Ruins will feature at her Melbourne and Brisbane shows.
