Short Stack is the latest act forced to reschedule Australian tour dates, with Frontier Touring announcing the band will no head down under for their reunion tour in 2020.
The band’s return to the live stage was originally set to take place in June this year, but with no end to coronavirus travel restrictions in sight, they’ve pushed back their dates to April of 2021.
Short Stack will still be joined by Melbourne band Between You & Me as they bring nostalgia to current and former emo lovers Australia-wide.
There’s more good news for ticketholders too, with all current tickets to remain valid for next year’s shows. Frontier Touring are encouraging fans to #KeepYourTicket and attend the new dates, but individual ticketsellers will still contact holders with refund options if the new dates don’t suit.
“Frontier Touring and Short Stack sincerely apologise to any ticketholders affected by the rescheduling and thank fans for their understanding and support in these unprecedented circumstances,” said the band and touring company in an announcement.
The trio of Shaun Diviney, Andy Clemmensen and Bradie Webb first burst onto the scene with their debut album Stack Is The New Black in 2009. The album spawned singles including ‘Sway Sway Baby!’ and ‘Shimmy A Go Go’, and would go on to receive Gold certification and peak at #1 on the ARIA Charts.
“I don’t think we’ve ever been more excited for a tour,” said Diviney when the tour was originally announced. “The early response has blown us away and we can’t wait to see everyone in July.”
Most dates are sold out, but limited tickets remain for the band’s shows in Canberra, Newcastle and Perth. See below for more info.
