Sia To Donate Eminem Royalties To LGBT Charity

Australia’s very own quirky-vocalist Sia has announced that all the royalties she receives from her recent collaboration on Beautiful Pain – a song on The Marshall Mathers LP 2, the new album by American rap superstar Eminem – will be donated to an LGBT charity.

The Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center will receive the much-needed funds, after Sia was forced to defend her collaboration with Eminem after his album came under scrutiny and was accused of being homophobic due to some of its more colourful lyrics.

One of the song’s being criticised is Rap God — which includes the line, “I’m still be able to break a motherfuckin’ table over the back of a couple of faggots and crack it in half / You fags are all the same.” Eminem, discussing that song in particular, has told Rolling Stone that he “never really equated those words” to actually mean homosexual.

“Not saying it’s wrong or it’s right, but at this point in my career – man, I say so much shit that’s tongue-in-cheek. I poke fun at other people, myself. But the real me sitting here right now talking to you has no issues with gay, straight, transgender, at all,” he continued.

Sia, who identifies as queer, has come out in defence of Eminem, saying in a statement, “I know personally that he is not homophobic, but a performance artist. I would never work with someone I believed to be homophobic.” Bravo Sia; you’re all class.
