Slash has shut down any talk of a Velvet Revolver reunion, after vocalist Scott Weiland claimed in a number of interviews that he’s rejoining the group.
Weiland told Rolling Stone recently that he thought it was “the perfect time for Velvet Revolver to get back together,” saying he was “completely open to it, and I know there are other guys in the band that are completely open to it.”
But, as Blabbermouth reports, Slash is singing a completely different tune, telling Classic Rock that Weiland is “speaking out of his ass” regarding a possible reunion, and “none of us have a clue what he’s talking about”.
“Scott is completely speaking out of his ass,” Slash said.
“Nobody at this end has had any conversations with Scott on this subject, except maybe Dave Kushner (Velvet Revolver guitarist), because he was the only one in the band who was really close to him.
“And all things considered, we don’t have a good professional relationship with Scott.”
The former Guns N’ Roses axeman went as far as to say that life had been great for him “since I got my shit together and stopped touring with Scott.” He also said that he wouldn’t tour with Weiland again regardless of whether he was busy with his current solo project or not.
“Even if I didn’t have my solo thing going on, I still wouldn’t work with him,” Slash said.
“I think at this point Scott just got fired from STP (Stone Temple Pilots) and I think he’s trying to pull off that trick of trying to get something else going on, and we’re not buying it. The door’s shut on this side and it’s probably shut on that side too, so he’s on his own. And he deserves it, too.”
