Slayer are chucking a John Farnham, announcing their live reunion less than five years after their official farewell tour.
The thrash legends will make their live comeback at two US metal festivals later this year, Chicago’s Riot Fest and Kentucky’s Louder Than Life Festival alongside Slipknot, Motley Crue, Korn and more.

Slayer’s reunion lineup will feature all the members who were in the band at the time of their 2019 farewell – Tom Araya, Kerry King, Paul Bostaph and Gary Holt.
“Nothing compares to the 90 minutes when we’re on stage playing live, sharing that intense energy with our fans,” Araya said in a press release. “And to be honest, we have missed that.”
While King added: “Have I missed playing live? Absolutely. Slayer means a lot to our fans; they mean a lot to us. It will be five years since we have seen them.”
Slayer formed in California back in 1981 and went on to release 12 studio albums throughout their career, most recently 2015’s Repentless. The band announced their farewell tour in 2018 and came to Australia that same year as part of the ill-fated Download Festival.
No word yet if the band will be returning to Australia on their reunion run, but we’ll keep you posted.
