Iowa group Slipknot have unveiled the fourth video in what has been a series of ultra-creepy teasers from the band in recent weeks. The masked metal icons, who are currently prepping their yet unnamed fifth studio album, shared the new video via their social media pages, with the foreboding caption, “Egregious/Replete With/These Lesions.”
Slipknot’s fourth official video teaser (below) is a quick series of shots tied to a soundtrack of bare and industrial percussion with a hint of white noise. The clip’s dark imagery portrays a bloody mouth, bloodied animal fur, a woman painted in charcoal black and a person kneeling in a candlelit room.
In preparation for their next album, Slipknot began sharing short video teasers in mid-July, and revamped their official website and nonagram. More and more creepy clips followed, exciting fans by suggesting that an album or single announcement may be imminent.
Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor revealed in early July that the band’s new album is “98 percent” done, and that fans would see a “big announcement soon” after the group unveiled “just a little stuff here and there”.
