Cult heroes/meme-fodder Smash Mouth performed a headlining set at the Urbana Sweetcorn Festival overnight, and the collapse of their singer seems to have taken little away from the band’s Shrek-inducing aura.
According to people in attendance at the show, including Reddit user junkinthehatchback, Smash Mouth’s Steve Harwell collapsed mid-set, and was later taken away in an ambulance. That said, all people seemed to care about was that the band then closed the set with I’m A Believer and All Star , sans Harwell.
After Harwell had left the stage, the crowd reportedly began chanting “Shrek!”, leaving the remaining band members with little choice but to perform their two greatest hits.
Punters on Twitter were a little more sympathetic to Harwell’s health, but typically it provided a chance for a few cheap laughs for some. Check out some of the responses on Twitter, as well as some footage from the show as the band soldered on without their fearless leader, below.

So, I didn't see it, but apparently Steve Harwell collapsed and had to be ushered offstage. #smashmouth

I wish harm on no-one, so I hope he's ok and all, but they were so much better without him. Yikes.
