2022’s set to be a stellar year already, and the good people behind So Frenchy So Chic are ensuring that the year’s beginning is going to be one of the best yet.
The coveted event celebrates everything French music, paying homage to the past greats, and embracing the present, and next year’s parties are set to be extra special, as it’s the organisation’s 10th anniversary.
They’ll be throwing two events in honour of the anniversary, with Melbourne and Sydney being treated in mid-February. Ali Barter and Nadeah will be performing alongside a range of artists and special guests.
To coincide with the celebrations, they’ve of course released a compilation that honours an element of French music history.
This year, SFSC founder Jean-Francois Ponthieux has curated a release titled YÉ-YÉ 2.0. Featuring nothing but Australian women, the release will see acts like Tina Arena, Ngaiire, Montaigne, Ali Barter, Odette, and more, putting their spin on the sound of the Yé-Yé; a subculture that was prominent in France in the 60’s. The music of this era was characterised by the French twist that was put on traditional rock and roll sounds emerging from the UK and the US at that time.
The release officially landed last Friday, 12th November.
Tickets for the event are just $84 each, and are cheaper if you get together a group of six or more. There are also some premiere tickets available for larger groups that includes a stylish picnic, champagne, and more.
Tickets are available via the SFSC website.
