Only days after Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah was named the most powerful person in the Australian music industry, he’s revealed that late August is “a fairly safe bet” for an announcement on Soundwave’s 2014 lineup.
As per usual, the news comes via Twitter, in response to an inquisitive fan. Maddah has already mentioned that he hopes to have around 60 bands on his lineup this year, meaning that the bill is really firming up, and he’s already previously suggested that we’ll see a lineup announcement in August. Now we can start counting the days, as opposed to waiting around until October, as per the Soundwave 2012 lineup announcement.
Soundwave-suited bands such as Asking Alexandria have already resisted the temptation to either confirm or deny whether their 2014 tours will be with the festival or their own headlining shows. Other bands rumoured to be on the lineup include Nine Inch Nails and Bowling For Soup.
Maddah’s continued Twitter enthusiasm, and the ever-so-slight possibility of a lineup leak, will continue to fuel the buzz surrounding what’s sure to be another big year for Soundwave. We’ll be covering everything like the pack of Maddah worshippers we are, so make sure to hit up our Soundwave 2014 rumours and info page for all the latest.
@Hinchey313 Late Aug is a fairly safe bet.
