Soundwave organisers are doing their bit to try and halt scalpers by setting up a buy/swap/sell program for those looking to score or offload tickets for the 2013 shows.
With the Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane legs of the festival selling out within a day of going on sale last week, scalpers have predictably snapped up tickets and started flogging them for ridiculous prices on eBay and Gumtree.
Keen to get those tickets in the hands of genuine fans – without paying the extra amounts – organisers posted the following status on Facebook this morning, announcing the introduction of a buy/swap/sell program in the near future.
As you might be aware, we’re working very hard to determine scalper tickets so that we can cancel where possible and put those tickets back on sale to genuine fans!
We’re also developing a comprehensive buy/sell/swap program that will allow fans that have spare tickets to sell at the price they purchased them for whilst allowing genuine fans to pay the cost price plus postage.
It is with both these initiatives in mind that we urge people to avoid ebay and other selling sites such as gumtree.
Please fight the urge to pay over the value of tickets to SOUNDWAVE 2013.
The buy/swap/sell program follows festival boss AJ Maddah’s tweet last night that all tickets reclaimed from scalpers and those that had processing errors would be re-sold in either October or November.
@William49449382 Yep. I'll announce when it's going to happen.
