The lineup for Southbound 2016 has just blown out with more acts than the festival has seen in its 11-year history.
But that doesn’t mean quantity over quality. Quite the opposite – the new additions are huuuuuuuuuuuuuge.
Starting with British indie rockers Catfish And The Bottlemen.
Yep. As far as internationals go, there’s also ZHU, Hudson Mohawke, Phantogram, Hot Chip doing a DJ set and more.
And don’t even get us started on the locals. The Aussie lineup contingent is basically a list of triple j’s most played, including but not limited to The Bennies, Boo Seeka, The Cat Empire, Ladyhawke, Montaigne, Nina Las Vegas, Paces, Peking Duk, Remi, SAFIA, The Smith Street Band, Sticky Fingers, Thundamentals, UV Boi, Vera Blue and more.
They join previously announced headliners Hermitude and a stack of WA locals including San Cisco, KUČKA and Tired Lion.
And the craziest part? There’s still more to be announced.
Southbound 2016 will run over the new dates of Tuesday 27th – Thursday 29th December in 2016, following on from the abrupt bushfire-triggered cancellation of the scheduled event at the start of this year.
As promised, those loyal Southbounders who bought tickets to the doomed January event will be given an exclusive 48-hour window to secure their spot this December, with a special email from Southbound HQ headed straight for your inboxes.
Catch the lineup so far – in all of its magnificence – below.
