Fremantle foursome Spacey Jane have announced their first Australian shows of 2022.
They’ll hit the Bar on the Hill at the University of Newcastle on Thursday, 17th February. They’ll then venture south for a gig at Sydney’s new pop-up venue, Village Green (Tempe), on Saturday, 19th February. RAT!hammock and Becca Hatch will provide support at both shows.
Spacey Jane have had a bumper 2021 despite being confined to Western Australia for the last six months. It started with Hottest 100 glory, with the band’s 2020 single ‘Booster Seat’ landing at #2 in this year’s countdown. ‘Booster Seat’ won Song of the Year at the 2021 ARIA Awards and scooped up Independent Song of the Year at the AIR Awards. Spacey Jane were also named Breakthrough Independent Artist of the Year at the AIR Awards.
The band’s latest single, ‘Lunchtime’, has been going great guns since its release in October. It’s a hot contender for this summer’s Hottest 100 countdown. Spacey Jane also released the single ‘Lots of Nothing’ in June. Both ‘Lunchtime’ and ‘Lots of Nothing’ will appear on the follow-up to the band’s breakthrough debut album, Sunlight.
