Spacey Jane are continuing their banner 2020, coming out with the top spot on triple J‘s annual albums poll, as decided by listeners of the broadcaster.
The album in question – Sunlight – came out back in June, preceded by lead single ‘Booster Seat’.
The victory is another boost behind the band’s case to take out the Hottest 100, with 100 Warm Tunas already predicting ‘Booster Seat’ will take the top spot.
Sunlight tops a largely Australian list, with the only non-Australian act making the cut being Glass Animals with their third album Dreamland.
Unfortunately, the list lacks diversity across all areas, with no female-fronted acts at all and only three women overall. Additionally, Ocean Alley are the only band in the list fronted by a person of colour.
