The final day of Splendour is upon us and with sun-soaked skies it’s set to be a ripper. I’m pretty sure the saying, “time flies when you’re having fun” was coined at Splendour because the last two days have been a whirlwind. Within the space of 48 hours the fields of Byron have been ablaze with the sounds of The Shins, At The Drive In, Jack White, Lana Del Ray, Miike Snow, and Bloc Party to name a few.
But that was just a warm up; Splendour has well and truly saved the best for last. The closing ceremony, if you will, will see a dazzling combination of up-and-coming heros and veteren rock stars. Kicking off the party with bands like Parachute Youth, Electric Guest, Zulu Winter, Django Django, Father John Misty, and Yuksek, the nightfall will see the real rock stars coming out to play with Metric, The Kooks and the most highly anticipated act of all, The Smashing Pumpkins.
