Splendour In The Grass 2015 Art & Craft Programs Announced

Splendour In The Grass brings amazing live music to North Byron Parklands each July, but the festival also prides itself on its art and craft programs — Splendour Arts and the perfectly-named Splendour In The Craft, which have both unveiled their 2015 lineups.

Splendour In The Grass 2015 will feature a Splendour Arts program chocked full of performance installations, handcrafted goodies, inflatable sculptures and, as always, Splendour’s Tent Of Miracles.

This year’s Arts program includes Anabaptister, the third iteration of Bennett Miller’s collaboration with Splendour, and, get this, an inflatable sculpture called Nicholas Cage In A Cage, where punters can actually face off with Nicolas Cage’s giant head. The built-to-bounce sculpture was created by the team who brought Lionel Richie’s Head to Splendour 2014.

The Splendour In The Craft side of things is all about shiny objects, hot glue guns, workshops, free form body painting, chill spaces and dancing in the dark. No Lights No Lycra will be there, as will homegrown indie outfit The Grates, running the SouthSide Tea Room café.

Festival-goers will have the chance to get busy making “Smash Those Bad Dream Catchers” and “Cool As F#%k Charm Bracelets”, you can also pimp your sunnies and gum boots or get in on the “People’s Republic of You Pennant” action and some casual flag making. There’s a whole lot more where that came from, and the full list of crafty shenanigans is available via the Splendour In The Grass website.

Splendour In The Grass 2015 is completely sold-out, and will kick off on Friday, 24th July. Catch the festival’s arts lineup and dates, below.
