Judging by the line up announcement, Splendour In The Grass 2016 is going to make you boogie, but we now know it will also make you laugh and ponder, with the return of Splendour’s forum and comedy club for the 7th year in a row, bringing with it the Q&A Splendour edition.
Splendour doesn’t just attract some of the biggest bands around but also some of the greatest thinkers, politicians, journalists and activists to partake in the forum. This year will include an array of panels – including a viewing of Chasing Asylum and a discussion afterwards by Lindsay “The Doctor” McDougall with director Eva Orner and Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young.
Women Of Letters will see writer, broadcaster and actor Marieke Hardy and poet and slam-nerd Emilie Zoey Baker take the stage with Montaigne, Wafia, Liz Drummond (Little May), Nicole Millar and others with each narrating their “Letter to the Song They Wish They’d Written.”
Not content with just the one panel hosting job, Lindsay McDougall will head up another discussion, with experts dishing about the real, practical ways we can empower ourselves to help, quote: “unfuck the planet”.
Q&A and host Tony Jones will be taking your questions on the final night of the festival, to get a word in edgeways, email your question through to qanda@splendourinthegrass.com ASAP.
Once the serious stuff is over, the forum will become home to the comedy club which, much like the forum and live music lineup, is huge. Wil Anderson, Matt Okine, Luke Mcgregor, Becky Lucas and more have been tagged to lead the laughs throughout the four nights of live comedy.
