Splendour In The Grass have set the dates for the 2024 iteration of the festival, returning to the North Byron Parklands from Friday July 19th to Sunday July 21st. As always, camping will be available on-site from two days prior, Wednesday July 17th. No information has been given as to when to expect a line-up announcement, though a statement from promoters has promised it is coming “very soon.”
Splendour is entering its 22nd year as a festival, although its run in the 2020s has obviously not been without incident. The 2020 festival was moved to December upon the initial wave of COVID lockdowns, then again to 2021 before being later cancelled entirely, while 2021’s festival was converted to virtual reality in the first (and, to date, only) Splendour XR “festival”.

Its in-person return in 2022, then, was mired by a deluge of rain that ultimately left the first night being cancelled. The remaining two days of the festival, however, were able to go ahead with headlining performances from The Strokes and Tyler, The Creator. They too, however, were plagued with transport issues that lead to a formal apology from festival organisers.
The festival returned in full flight for the first time in four years last July, with headliners Lizzo, Flume and a reunited Mumford & Sons. Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi was set to return to Australia as part of the festival, but ultimately withdrew from his entire world tour due to physical and mental exhaustion.
