Here Are the Set Times for Splendour XR Next Week

Virtual festival Splendour XR is set to kick off next week, running across the weekend of July 24-25 with a stacked lineup of digital performances from the likes of Khalid, The Killers, CHVRCHES, Charli XCX, The Avalanches, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and many more.

With 9 days to go until the massive two-day event gets going, organisers have revealed playing times. They’ve also announced some lineup changes – 2manydjs and Skegss are joining the bill, while Violent Soho have been forced to withdraw. In a statement, the grunge rockers said “the realities of lockdowns and border closures” made it impossible to put together a new show for the virtual event.

Organisers have also shared a video preview of the in-world festival environment, giving a glimpse of the festival site, stages, campground, market stalls and more. Check that out below – if you’re particularly eager, you can sign up to the Splendour mailing list here to get a sneak peak of the virtual front entrance space before virtual gates officially open next weekend.

As the ongoing pandemic forces cancellations and postponements of IRL events around the country (including Splendour’s own Splendour in the City pop-up), Splendour XR will offer fans the opportunity to beam performances direct into their homes – either via VR technology or simply a browser, phone or tablet.

In addition to the truly stacked lineup of local and international talent, the virtual festival will also be hosting a plethora of discussions, comedy, DJ sets and more, with festival staples like The Forum, Global Village, Comedy Club, Tipi Forest and Little Splendour returning.

Check out the timetable below or over at the Splendour XR website. Tickets are still on sale – head here for more information.
