West Australian rockers Split Seconds will be heading around the East Coast in May to promote the release of their new single Top Floor.
The single – which will be streaming on Music Feeds next Wednesday – is described as “a quirky, handclap-heavy pop gem that is soaked with the Splits’ trademark harmonies, a whistling chorus and an X-rated sub-plot worthy of its own reality TV show.”
Top Floor will be the first single from Split Seconds’ upcoming debut album, which is set to hit the streets in July. The currently untitled album was recorded by Matt Giovanangelo (Voltaire Twins) and mixed by Aaron Cupples (The Drones, Snowman, Dan Kelly) and Dave Parkin (Felicity Groom, Snowman, Jebediah).
Split Seconds have had a massive 18 months: scoring five WAMI awards; supporting fellow WA groups The Panics and Jebadiah on their national tours; and playing all of the country’s major summer festivals, including Homebake, Pyramid Rock and Big Day Out.
Co-headlining with the band on their upcoming shows will be Sydney psych-popsters Underlights, who have just released their self-titled EP.
Split Seconds and Underlights co-headline SECOND LIGHT Tour.
