Spotify have announced the launch of A1 live, a live event in Sydney based around their A1 Hip-Hop playlist.
It all goes down Thursday, 7th November at the Metro Theatre, and boasts the likes of rising Sydney hip-hop collective Triple One along with Manu Crooks, Kwame and New Zealand’s JessB to name a few.
“It’s been awesome to have our music on Spotify’s A1 playlist; it’s allowed us to reach so many more listeners and also have our tunes sit alongside our friends, collaborators and idols,” say Triple One.
“It’s even better that we get to bring it all onstage this November, in our hometown, with the best from around Australia and New Zealand. The whole scene is making itself known on a global stage and we are honoured to be a part of that. Very keen to gabber to Hooligan Hefs as well.”
According to Kwame, it’s a golden moment for Australian hip-hop and its trajectory.
“We’re the leaders of the new sound creating a new culture paving the way for the next generation to follow. The intent has always been global domination, we’re witnessing the change right in front of our eyes.”
It’s the second of their flagship playlists Spotify has brought to life in Australia, with the second edition of its Front Left Live event happening in Melbourne next month featuring the likes of Tove Lo, Tones and I and Girl in Red.
