Experimental rock super-trio Springtime will embark on a national tour in support of their debut album next Feb-March.
Springtime is the project of guitarist and vocalist Gareth Liddiard (Tropical Fuck Storm, The Drones), drummer Jim White (Dirty Three, Xylouris White) and pianist for The Necks, Chris Abrahams. After playing a few impromptu live dates in the first half of 2021, the trio recorded its debut album.
The self-titled full length release came out earlier this month via Liddiard’s own Tropical Fuck Storm Records and US label, Joyful Noise Recordings. The album features lyrics adapted from British poet Ian Duhig and a cover of Will Oldham (aka Bonnie “Prince” Billy)’s ‘West Palm Beach’.
Springtime will launch the tour with a performance at Sydney’s City Recital Hall on Thursday, 24th February. They’ll also play headline dates in Brisbane, Melbourne, Castlemaine, Meeniyan, Canberra and Perth, as well as stopping by WOMADelaide. Full list of tour dates below.
